CSBF provides consultation services and ballooning knowledge to universities, government facilities and international institutions for scientific balloon launches, research and recovery.

Not only does the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility provide scientific groups and its various partners with the physical tools and materials necessary for conducting a balloon launch, but they also provide expertise and knowledge in the field. This expertise is invaluable to our understanding and development of aerospace technology. In fact, several space missions and craft including the James Webb Space Telescope are possible because of CSBF powered balloon missions.
