When it comes to space, the only limit is your imagination.
NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia is inviting students grades K-12 to illustrate their vision of the future in aeronautics, exploration and Earth science in the 2019 NASA Art Contest, using the theme “Explore.”
The contest is open to all children grades K-12 attending public, private, parochial and homeschools in the United States of America.
“The contest is intended to illustrate how NASA research and innovation are propelling science forward to new discoveries, and to highlight how exploration helps create a better world – one full of opportunities, technologies, and new ways of understanding our home planet,” said Kristina Cors, art contest coordinator.
The art contest submission period opens Dec. 1, 2018 and concludes on Dec. 31, 2018 at midnight EST.
Schools, organizations, and community groups are asked to encourage parents to submit one entry per student. Teachers can also submit on behalf of the student. A grand-prize winner will be selected from all entries; a first place, second place and third place as well as honorable mention winners.
People can review the 2018 art contest winners for inspiration and start submitting work starting Dec. 1 at https://artcontest.larc.nasa.gov.
