This illustration offers an expanded view of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Block 1B cargo configuration. Every SLS configuration uses the same core stage design with four RS-25 engines. The advanced Block 1B configuration utilizes a more powerful Exploration Upper Stage, which offers in-space propulsion to send heavy exploration systems, like a human landing system, inside a cargo fairing to the Moon, Mars and beyond.
