Audience members watch a video presentation on the history of the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics (NACA) during the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics 100th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. Congress established the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) on March 3, 1915 to address and find solutions to problems with flight. In 1958, the NACA staff, research facilities, and know-how were transitioned to the new NASA.
