NASA Awards Contract for Flight Operations Support

NASA has awarded contracts to nine companies to provide specialized engineering, aeronautics, and manufacturing support for Flight Operations Directorate work, facilities, and aircraft at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The selected companies are:

  • American Systems Corporation of Chantilly, Virginia
  • ATA Engineering, Inc., of San Diego, California
  • Bastion Technologies, Inc., of Houston
  • Engineering and Software System Solutions, Inc., of Clearfield, Utah
  • Flight Test & Mechanical Solutions, Inc., of Huntsville, Alabama
  • Oceaneering International, Inc., of Houston
  • Rothe Enterprises, Inc., of Houston
  • Southern Research Institute of Birmingham, Alabama
  • ZIN Technologies, Inc., of Middleburg Heights, Ohio

The contracts are multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts, with firm-fixed-price and time-and-materials task orders. They include a five-year base period that begins Nov. 10, with no options to extend. The contracts have a combined maximum potential value of $49.5 million.

The categories of work under this contract are: aero structural engineering and analysis; aero mechanical systems; aero avionics, electrical and software; ground support engineering services; and fabrication and provisioning. The work will be performed at the contractors’ facilities and various NASA locations.

The Flight Operations Directorate at Johnson is the home to the center’s aircraft operations and is responsible for planning and executing human spaceflight missions. This includes the training and support of astronauts, flight directors and controllers.
