Johnathan Hair

Senior Research Scientist, Lidar Sciences Branch, Science Directorate, NASA Langley Research Center

About

Dr. Johnathan Hair is a senior research scientist in the Lidar Sciences Branch, Science Directorate at NASA Langley Research Center, focused on the development and application of advanced active remote sensing technologies and measurement systems for the study of Earth and planetary atmospheric composition and physics. Dr. Hair has extensive experience in preparing, deploying, and analyzing data from many national and international field campaigns as an instrument Co-I and PI using state-of-the-art instruments including the High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL) and the Ozone Differential Absorption Lidar (Ozone DIAL) airborne instruments. He has had lead role in the design, development, and deployment of the airborne High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL-1 and HSRL-2) instruments that began in 2000 and resulted in a reliable work-horse instrument. Dr. Hair has presented the results of his research at national and international conferences and meetings and in collaborative journal publications.
