Kaitlin Lostroscio supports the Digital Astronaut Simulation in the Software, Robotics, and Simulation division at the Johnson Space Center, leading motion capture efforts for future exploration exercise devices. She is a recent graduate of the University of South Florida, where she earned her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. An added technical skillset for human testing and biomechanics was built from working in the Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation and Robotics Technologies (CARRT). At CARRT, she worked in a motion analysis lab supporting research ranging from prosthetic device comparisons to distracted driving studies. A NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship then enabled her thesis work to focus on human spaceflight related efforts. Her work can be found annually at the NASA Human Research Program Investigator’s Workshop and most recently at the International Astronautical Congress.
