Flames on Solid Fuel in the SoFIE-GEL Investigation

jsc2024e021222 (March 21, 2024) A flame curves along a sphere of solid fuel as part of the SoFIE-GEL investigation, which evaluates how fuel temperature affects the flammability of a material. The study could improve researchers’ understanding of fire growth behavior and help determine optimal fire suppression techniques to improve fire safety in future space facilities.
