Small Business Specialist at Langley Research Center
Tell us a little about your background.
I grew in Sligo, NC, about 35 miles north of the Outer Banks. I served 20 years in the US Air Force as a munitions supply specialist and later as a contracting officer.
I accepted a civil servant position at the 1st Contracting Squadron, Langley Air Force Base, VA, after I retired from the US Air Force in 2005. I found my way to NASA Langley in 2009 after civil servant stints with the US Air Force and Veterans Affairs.
I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Carla, for 36 years and we have 3 amazing kids. We love spending time with our family and seeing new places.
What made you want to become a small business specialist?
Honestly, after 20 years as a contracting officer, I needed a change, and becoming a small business specialist turned out to be perfect fit for me.
What is your favorite part of being a small business specialist?
I really enjoy helping people, whether it’s assisting small businesses or the NASA acquisition professionals.
