As the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle heads over the horizon, the rocket’s contrail is illuminated by the rising Sun. SpaceX CRS-15 lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 5:42 a.m. EDT carrying a Dragon resupply spacecraft to the International Space Station. It is the company’s 15th Commercial Resupply Services mission to the International Space Station, Dragon is filled with supplies and payloads, including critical materials to support several science and research investigations that will occur during Expedition 56.
