Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex’s (CDSCC) landscape has evolved since the construction of its first antenna in the 1960s. More antennas have been constructed to meet user requirements while older antennas have been retired. The antenna shown in the middle of the photo, Deep Space Station 43 (DSS-43), has a diameter of 64 meters (210 feet). A couple of years after this photo was taken, DSS-43 was upgraded to 70 meters (230 feet) in diameter.
