The Orion Aerosciences Project is responsible for the development of both the Crew Module (CM) and Launch Abort Vehicle (LAV) aerodynamic databases using both computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing. Aerodynamic analyses provided by NASA Ames as well as the development of Overflow CFD simulation guidelines for the Orion project support CFD simulations to be used in the creation of the vehicle aerodynamic databases. The current work will be to support the development of the future Artemis flight tests, aerodynamic databases, and post flight comparisons.
