Stennis continued space shuttle main engine testing in the 1990s but also worked to expand its capabilities with construction of innovative new E Test Complex facilities. During the decade, NASA also recognized Stennis as the Center of Excellence for large propulsion system testing and as the agency’s lead center for implementing commercial remote sensing activities.
