NASA ICB 2015 Awards

Two NASA software design teams received the agency’s prestigious Software of the Year Award for 2015. The co-winners were Ames Research Center for NEQAIR, Nonequilibrium Radiative Transport and Spectra Program, and Johnson Space Center for Orion Guidance, Navigation, and Control Flight Software.

Ames Research Center’s NEQAIR is a line-by-line radiation code that computes spontaneous emission, absorption and stimulated emission due to transitions between various energy states of chemical species along a line-of-sight. The Orion Guidance, Navigation, and Control Flight Software technology from the Johnson Space Center uses a MATLAB/Simulink tool suite to embrace a model-based development approach.

Additionally, Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s invention, Data Optimization via Genetic Ordering (DOGO) System and Langley Research Center’s Airborne Doppler Wind Lidar Post Data Processing Software DAPS-LV (LAR-18270-1) were selected as Runners-Up.
