At Work at NACA Langley Aeronautical Laboratory, 1943

Langley actively recruited woman workers to meet the increasing demand of the war effort and offset the alarming loss of manpower as men were drafted and volunteered for military service, or transferred to the new NACA laboratories at Ames and AERL. As shown in these photos of 1943, the scope of activities and job assignments were extremely broad.
