Carl Poteet – NESC Academy Biography

Mr. Poteet is a research engineer in the Structural Mechanics and Concepts Branch at NASA Langley Research Center.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from The George Washington University. 

He has 19 years of experience performing structural testing and analysis of reusable and ablative thermal protection systems, including the 2nd Generation Reusable Launch Vehicle, the Shuttle Wing Leading Edge Overwrap, and the Crew Exploration Vehicle Thermal Protection System Advanced Development Project.  More recently he has worked with the projects developing C-PICA, HEEET, and 3DMAT materials.
