Eric Gore

Eric Gore is the program manager for NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems Program (EGS) at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In this role, Gore leads the program responsible for developing, operating, and sustaining the ground infrastructure and systems that process, integrate, and launch Artemis missions and other government and commercial spacecraft. His work ensures the technical integrity, safety, and readiness of ground systems that support America’s return to the Moon and future exploration initiatives.

Experience

With more than 27 years of experience supporting NASA missions and advancing human spaceflight, Gore previously served as the chief engineer for EGS, providing technical authority, consultation, and leadership within the Engineering Directorate for Artemis launch systems, including NASA’s SLS (Space Launch System), Orion spacecraft, and supporting ground systems. He also contributed engineering expertise applicable to other government and commercial launch operations.

From 2022 to 2025, Gore was the senior integration manager for EGS, where he led cross organizational teams in resolving complex engineering challenges. His work bridged operations, safety, and systems integration across mission-critical systems, safeguarding NASA’s standards of technical rigor while maintaining program momentum.

In 2019, Gore became the senior element engineer for mobile launcher 1, overseeing its construction, verification, validation, and certification. He provided technical leadership across ground and flight elements, balancing resource integration and problem solving to meet EGS and agency objectives.

Earlier in his career, Gore held several key engineering and leadership roles at NASA Kennedy, including operations system specialist, lead design engineer, and ground system fabrication manager. He served as the space shuttle hazardous gas detection system specialist for more than 40 launches and contributed as the lead design engineer in the same role for Constellation and SLS. He also managed EGS ground system financial task orders that delivered more than 500 end items across the program and served as branch chief for the NASA Engineering EGS Technical Integration Branch.

Gore’s contributions to NASA have been recognized with numerous honors, including NASA’s Silver Achievement Medal, Exceptional Achievement Medal, Outstanding Leadership Medal, and the prestigious Silver Snoopy Award.

Education

Gore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
