CFO University

Included in the goals of the OCFO enterprise is to identify and develop needed capabilities for the OCFO of the future and create opportunities for continued learning, employee development, and a highly trained and skilled workforce.

CFO University was established in 2008 to efficiently and effectively invest in building workforce capabilities in a highly cost-effective manner.  The program provides NASA focused financial, budget, resource management, procurement, data analytics, program planning and control, and management-leadership training to the CFO enterprise and its partnering mission enabling offices taught by NASA’s workforce who are subject matter experts.

The program began with a few courses and grew to a portfolio of 8 courses over the first decade.  Over the last 4 years, through focused leadership, 20 more courses have been developed and added to the platform for a total of 28 course offerings, and growing.  The CFO University program offers courses in three different formats; interactive online, virtual, and in-person.  The program trains over 1,000 employees each year with a significant cost avoidance for the Agency when compared to purchasing externally.  The quality of the training is much higher than externally sourced training as it is taught by NASA subject matter experts using NASA organizational content.  For more information about this valuable program and to see the latest news and events, please click on the link below to the CFO University website.
