The vision of the OCFO is to be the credible expert, trusted advisor, and source of quality information on matters related to finance and resources, to ensure effective programmatic and institutional decision making across the Agency.

As stewards of the Program Planning and Control function, OCFO provides leadership and resources towards building these skills within the Agency’s workforce.

Included in the goals of the OCFO enterprise is to identify and develop needed capabilities for the OCFO of the future and create opportunities for continued learning and employee development.

CFO University was established in 2008 in order to efficiently and effectively address these goals in a very cost effective manner.  The program provides NASA focused financial, management, program planning and control, and management and leadership training to the CFO enterprise and its partnering mission support offices.

The program began with a few courses and grew to a portfolio of eight courses over the first decade.  Recently, five more courses have been developed and added to the program for a total of thirteen course offerings currently, and still growing.  The CFO University program offers courses in three different formats; interactive online, virtual, and in-person, and has been training upwards of 1,500 employees annually and growing.  For more information about this valuable program and to see the latest news and events, please click on the link below to the CFO University website.
