Get ready for an eggciting time at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center as the second annual Save the Eggs event is held from 1 – 4 p.m., Saturday, April 1.
A space-themed egg hunt and various egg engineering challenges and activities await young explorers and their families at this annual spring event.
At the Save the Eggs event, participants will have the opportunity to collect space-themed eggs and prizes during an egg hunt, create an eggstronaut for an egg drop challenge, and participate in egg science demonstrations, egg rocket races, egg solar system toss, egg-spoon catapult and more!
The space-themed egg hunt, scheduled for 1 p.m., will be set up on the grounds of the Visitor Center and will include two separate hunt zones, one for young and one for older children. Hunters are encouraged to bring a bag to hold the eggs they collect.
Participants in the eggstronaut drop should have their design ready by 2:30 p.m. for the drop that begins at 2:45 p.m. The remainder of the activities will occur throughout the afternoon.
All activities are free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to arrive early to be ready for the space-themed egg hunt at 1pm. Supplies are limited. The rain date for the event is from 1 – 4 p.m., Saturday, April 8.
The NASA Visitor Center, located on Va. Rt. 175 about six miles from U. S. Route 13 and five miles from Chincoteague, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
