NASA’s IV&V Facility to Conduct Simulated Active Shooter Emergency Exercise Monday Sept. 12, 2016

NASA’s Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Facility in Fairmont, West Virginia, will conduct a simulated active shooter emergency exercise on Monday, September 12, 2016. The event will involve a mock shooter and victims, emergency responders and response teams, and other activities to test NASA’s emergency response and communications preparedness.

While the event will be held within a NASA facility in Fairmont, it is important to be aware that any unusual activity that might be seen or heard is part of the test and not an actual emergency.  During the event, all communication will be preceded by “Exercise, exercise, exercise”.

The simulated active shooter exercise is part of NASA’s ongoing commitment to protecting employees – its most valuable asset. Media involvement during the event will not be possible.  For more information or interviews, contact Jeff Northey at 304-367-8250.
