In celebration of its 75th anniversary, NASA’s Glenn Research Center is having a free public open house May 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is the center’s first open house since 2008.
The center will begin setting up tents, exhibits, demonstration carts and more on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Media who wish to cover the open house during or prior to the event should contact Jan Wittry at 216-870-0348 or jan.m.wittry-1@nasa.gov for special media parking instructions and security clearance. Glenn officials will be available for interviews throughout the week.
At the open house, visitors can see NASA airplanes, walk through wind tunnels, step inside vacuum chambers, see where NASA tests tires for lunar and Mars rovers, and more. There also will be hands-on activities for kids, science demonstrations and aircraft on display. Astronaut Doug Wheelock will make special guest appearances. Food, beverages and NASA souvenirs will be available for purchase.
Members of the public who have questions about the open house should call 216-433-5555 or visit www.nasa.gov/glenn75.
