Summer 2022 Awardees Announced – STEM Collaboration Opportunities
The Office of STEM Engagement at NASA Glenn Research Center congratulates the following awardees for the Summer 2022 STEM Collaboration Opportunity. This solicitation requested proposals from youth-serving organizations and formal/informal education institutions to receive professional development and implement NASA STEM content for students in grades 5-9 from May 23, 2022 through August 31, 2022. NASA Glenn’s Office of STEM Engagement has developed a new Make it NASA activity called Where’s the Power? In this activity, student teams design and build a power management system where chosen components turn on and off based on the amount of solar power available This opportunity allowed each organization to submit a brief proposal for collaboration with NASA with an option to request funding for up to $2,000.00 for professional development and materials to implement the content with students.

- Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois – Glen Carbon, IL
- Greater Cleveland Neighborhood Centers Association – Cleveland, OH
- Leland Community Affairs, Inc. – Detroit, MI
- Lodi Family Center – Lodi, OH
- Lyons School District 103 – George Washington Middle School – Lyons, IL
- Ohio University Kids on Campus – Athens, OH
- Project Exploration – Chicago, IL
- Tri-State Education & Technology – Cincinnati, OH
- Van Wert Middle School – Van Wert, OH
- Wave Robotics – Oshkosh, WI
NASA Glenn’s Office of STEM Engagement has an interest in engaging audiences to achieve the Agency’s STEM education goals. Goals include advancement of the STEM education and workforce pipeline and increasing and enhancing STEM knowledge for students, particularly those currently underrepresented and underserved in STEM education and/or fields
