Skyfire is being built by Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company of Denver, Colorado. This CubeSat will perform a lunar flyby of the moon, taking infrared sensor data during the flyby to enhance our knowledge of the lunar surface. It is one of two secondary payloads NASA selected through the Next Space Technologies for Exploration Partnerships (NextSTEP) Broad Agency Announcement to fly on the first Space Launch System mission.
