A Message from Our Director

Vanessa Wyche

At NASA’s Johnson Space Center, we are engaged in humankind’s greatest adventure of exploration by serving as a center of excellence for human spaceflight missions. We have led the world in human space exploration for nearly 60 years by working with other NASA centers, contractors, and academic partners. Through our Artemis program, we are continuing our journey of exploration.

Our team is excited to inspire a new generation of explorers to reach to greater heights with our next giant leap. We are pleased to collaborate with our nation’s universities to prepare the Artemis generation to build outposts in uncharted territory while revolutionizing the strategies and technologies that will eventually open up the universe. We are also thrilled to bring the benefits of space exploration for the economic well-being of our nation and the world.

At Johnson, our vision is clear. We dare to expand frontiers. We unite with our partners to complete bold missions. We explore space to benefit humanity. We have a long history of working with colleges and universities since the early days of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs to help us achieve our missions. We remain committed to partnering and collaborating with institutions of higher learning in vital research and technology development initiatives that will enable us to meet our nation’s exploration goals and advance human spaceflight.

I invite you to join us as we continue our journey to the stars and beyond!
