A Spacewalk for Science

iss072e595522 (January 30, 2025) --- NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore is shown during a spacewalk, swabbing external surfaces near life support vents on the outside of the International Space Station to determine if microorganisms can survive and reproduce in the harsh space environment. Investigation results could help inform spacecraft designs to help prevent human contamination on future space missions to the Moon and Mars.
