This week in 1996, STS-72, space shuttle Endeavour’s 10th mission, launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. One of 34 night launches, STS-72’s launch window was planned to support the mission’s primary objective, the recovery of Space Flyer Unit, a Japanese microgravity research spacecraft. The NASA History Program documents and preserves NASA’s remarkable history through a variety of products — photos, press kits, press releases, mission transcripts and administrators’ speeches.
