NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine addressed the National Space Council during their meeting at NASA Headquarters in Washington on May 19, 2020. Vice President Mike Pence (right center, blue neck tie) chaired the meeting, which included Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross (to Pence’s right) and Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao (to Pence’s left).
Among other topics, the council discussed NASA’s upcoming Space X Demonstration Mission-2, scheduled for launch at 4:33 p.m. EDT on May 27, 2020. Astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley will be the first astronauts to fly SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule and will join the International Space Station’s crew upon reaching the orbital outpost.
