Fabrication of the Boilerplate Test Article (BTA), which will be used for water impact testing at the new Hydro Impact Basin, is complete.
On Tuesday, Jan. 18, the BTA was transported from the hangar annex to Langley Air Force Base where it will be painted. Above, Michael Barney with Science Technology Corporation makes sure the BTA is secure and ready to be transported.
SPLASH project manager Lynn Bowman said the transportation, at a maximum speed of 5 mph (8 kph), went smoothly.
