Composite pressure vessels and components must operate in demanding environments facing extreme conditions. White Sands Test Facility has designed special test systems capable of simulating the extreme conditions faced while in space, on land, and even undersea. Utilizing the Materials Flight Acceptance facility, our on-site testing capabilities and expertise allow us to offer special testing of components in these simulated environments.

Thermal Conditioning Chambers
Our thermal test chambers range in temperature and size.

  • Webbers
    4’ x 4’ x 4’, Temperature range: Ambient to 350°F

  • Self-Heated Chamber
Cylindrical, 6’ OD / 46” (with bulkhead installed) or 144” (without bulkhead), Temperature range: Ambient to 200°F

  • DTS/Cooke: Bell Jar
24” height / 16” OD, Temperature range: Ambient to 300°F

Vacuum Chambers
Our vacuum chamber range in temperature and their capabilities are

  • Webbers and Self-Heated Chamber
Rough Vacuum (Ambient to 10-2 torr)

  • DTS and Cooke
High Vacuum (10-3 to 10-6 torr)
