Find Your Place in Space Week – Wyoming Events

Jackson Lake, in the state of Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park, is a natural remnant of glacial gouging and was enlarged by the construction of the Jackson Lake Dam in the early 20th century. The International Space Station was orbiting nearly 256 miles above North America when this photograph was taken by an Expedition 57 crew member.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Event at The Science Zone

April 8, 2024 | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Please join us for a partial solar eclipse viewing on Monday, April 8th, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event is sponsored by Wyoming NASA Space Grant and is hosted by Dr. Andrew Young (astronomy instructor) from Casper College. A telescope will be set up so you can see the eclipse safely through a solar filter. Here’s hoping for clear skies!

The 2024 Solar Eclipse on Prexy's Pasture

For those not traveling to see the eclipse in its totality, we’ll get a partial eclipse for the afternoon here in Laramie, WY. Bring camp chairs and blankets and we’ll have eclipse glasses and solar telescopes for observing.
