Solar Eclipse Festival

April 6, 2024 | 10 a.m.

April 5-7, join ECHO and other science enthusiasts in the runup to the total solar eclipse taking place Monday, April 8. Enjoy a variety of sun-safe viewing techniques including sun-oculars, telescope projections, and eclipse glasses. Explore ECHO’s special exhibit Mission Aerospace and a total eclipse pop-up exhibit. Take part in family-friendly, hands-on activities to learn more about this once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event. Personal eclipse glasses available with Admission (pay-what-you-can, suggested donation of $3 each).

Eclipse 2024 at ECHO

April 8, 2024 | 10 a.m.

Join ECHO and the Vermont Astronomical Society to celebrate the coming of the total solar eclipse. Enjoy a variety of sun-safe viewing techniques, including sun-oculars, telescope projections, and eclipse glasses. Watch the total eclipse live-streamed as it moves across the US. Explore family-friendly, hands-on activities and a special eclipse pop-up exhibit to learn more about this once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event. Personal eclipse glasses included with event admission along with access to all our permanent exhibits, special exhibit Mission Aerospace, and waterside patio. Food and beverage items will be available for sale from Sugarsnap Catering within ECHO and indoor lunch space will be provided for eating. Additional City-sponsored festivities will be taking place right outside ECHO’s door in Waterfront Park.
