Students learn about the North American monsoon, a typical weather pattern that occurs seasonally in parts of the United States and Mexico. This resource enables students to visualize large datasets as they observe how storms develop, evolve and move across North America and how levels of soil moisture change in response to the precipitation.
Support materials include a Spanish version of the video, background information, teaching tips and discussion questions.
This resource was developed through GBH’s Bringing the Universe to America’s Classrooms project, in collaboration with NASA’s Science Activation program.
