This lesson introduces students to the immigration involvement at the beginning of NASA’s Apollo Program. Students will analyze the economic and social effect of migration on Eastern Europe and the United States in the mid-20th century as it relates to this topic.

Students will:

  • Identify, compare and contrast the economics and social indicators of development.
  • Analyze the role of immigration with regards to the economic and social indicators of development.
  • Evaluate the role of ‟push and pull” factors as they pertain to the emigration of Eastern Europeans to the United States.
