With this webquest, students learn how we measure precipitation from the ground and from space using satellites, and why we need to do ground validation of the satellite data. Students also learn about the OLYMPEX Field Campaign, the goal of which was to collect detailed atmospheric measurements used to evaluate how well rain-observing satellites measure rainfall and snowfall from space.
