A map of tiny solid and liquid particles suspended in the atmosphere are called aerosols. Windblown dust, sea salts, volcanic ash, smoke from wildfires, and pollution from factories are all examples of aerosols.

Participants will work in groups to make an aerosol sensor, a simple adhesive tool that allows them to collect data and estimate the extent of aerosols present in their surrounding outdoor and indoor environment.

By the end of this activity, participants will:gain an understanding of data collection and interpretation as they explore and observe the number of aerosols present in the air around them.
