Welcome to the first quarterly Small Spacecraft Systems Virtual Institute (S3VI) Resource Brief!
We hope you find this brief useful in keeping abreast of the many small spacecraft resources and activities occurring in the NASA and external small spacecraft communities. With the quickened pace of small spacecraft technology innovation, associated missions, and developments in launch capabilities, the amount of information available on the Internet is significant. The S3VI resource brief offers a digest of links to our more popular web portal content to include recent NASA small spacecraft developments and accomplishments, events, solicitations, as well as other useful information.
NASA’s S3VI was established in 2017 with the stated goal of providing communications and resources for the benefit of our national small spacecraft communities. To meet this goal, we collect content relevant to small spacecraft both internal and external to NASA; conduct webinars on a variety of topics; exhibit and speak at technical conferences and public events; participate in and conduct special studies, and organize workshops. All of this material is available on our web portal at: www.nasa.gov/smallsat-institute.
This fall, we will release the 2020 version of the Small Spacecraft State-of-the-Art report. The report contains information on small spacecraft systems, vendors, launch methods, and other useful information for scientists and mission planners wishing to develop and launch small spacecraft. This year, we are reaching out to a broad set of subject matter experts to create a one-of-a-kind snapshot of the various capabilities in the small spacecraft ecosystem. Look for publication in late October.
I hope you find this resource useful. I welcome any questions or suggestions, so please reach out to us at:
