Susan Weingarten
As the Lead Systems Engineer for CST, Susan Weingarten was heavily involved in the development of various key Mission Control Center (MCC) capabilities for that program. She developed the requirements and critical design for the CST Command Display, CST Abort Command Panel, reconfiguration tools for generating CST command and telemetry build products, and the CST file transfer functionality. Susan also developed the CST hazard reports, which are essential to ensuring that controls are designed into the MCC to mitigate hazards to the vehicle and crew during the mission. In addition to serving the needs of the CST mission, Susan’s work in these areas has since been leveraged to meet requirements for new NASA programs such as Gateway. Susan’s contributions to the CST program are serving as a foundation upon which the future of the MCC is being built.
