Brock Sishc
Cancer Discipline Lead, Space Radiation Element
Brock Sishc’s scientific background is in radiation biology, translational radiation oncology, the response of biological systems to charged particle exposure, charged particle radiotherapy, and radiation carcinogenesis. Before joining the Space Radiation Element (SRE), Sishc was funded by Human Research Program grants for more than 10 years while conducting space radiation carcinogenesis research as both a graduate student and post-doctoral fellow.
Sishc received a doctorate in radiation cancer biology from the Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University, in the laboratory of Dr. Susan Bailey. After graduating in May 2014, he began training as a post-doctoral research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Story at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Sishc joined SRE in May 2020.
