The NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center invites the public to join in celebrating NASA’s six decades of aeronautic research and space exploration during a special event from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018.
The NASA 60th Anniversary celebration event is free and open to the public and features presentations, exhibitors, and science demonstrations.
“We are thrilled to showcase our operations and the work of our mission partners during this anniversary event,” said Bill Wrobel, Wallops director. “Wallops is a unique national asset integral to achieving NASA’s goals in exploration and discovery as well as supporting a diverse, multi-agency mission portfolio.”
Representatives from programs at NASA Wallops as well as other organizations including the U.S. Navy, NOAA, and the National Park Service will be on-hand to talk to visitors.

The NASA Visitor Center, located on Va. Rt. 175 about six miles from U.S. Route 13 and five miles from Chincoteague, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
