NASA Wallops’ Future Explored May 1 at Visitor Center

Exploring the Future of NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility will be the subject of a presentation at 5 p.m., Friday, May 1, at the Wallops’ Visitor Center.

As the Facility enters a new decade in its history, Wallops Director Bill Wrobel will take a look at the future activities of the Delmarva research center as part the Visitor Center’s Lecture Series celebrating Wallops Flight Facility’s 70 Anniversary.

Kim Check, Visitor Center manager, said, “NASA Wallops plays a key role in aerospace research around the world. Through its 70 year history, the Facility has adopted to the ever changing demands of the aerospace industry and the science of understanding our Earth and space.”

Exploring the Future is the final 70th Anniversary presentation at the Visitor Center that have taken a look at the Facility’s past, present and now the future.

The lecture series leads up to a June 27 public open house of the Wallops Flight Facility.

The presentation is free and open to the public. The NASA Visitor Center, including the gift shop, will be open from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for the presentation.

The NASA Visitor Center, located on Va. Rt. 175 about six miles from U.S. Route 13 and five miles from Chincoteague, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
