Discover the starry night sky on the Maryland end of Assateague Island National Seashore with the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center and the Delmarva Space Sciences Foundation from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21.

Our local national park holds some of the last remaining harbors of darkness on the east coast. By night, Assateague visitors have an unparalleled view of the stars and beyond.

Participants will have the unique opportunity of observing the night sky through high-powered telescopes and binoculars located at the North Ocean Beach parking lot. Participants will take a closer look into our vast universe through observations of Saturn, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, and other deep sky objects.

The event is free and open to the public. Subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Park entrance fees apply.
This series is collaboration between Assateague Island National Seashore, Delmarva Space Sciences Foundation and the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center.
