NASA will host a panel discussion with industry partners for its Systems Integration and Operationalization (SIO) demonstration at the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Xponential, All Things Unmanned conference, Thursday, May 2nd at 11 a.m. in Chicago.
NASA is partnering with three companies, Bell, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), and PAE ISR to perform SIO demonstration activities in 2020 occurring at altitudes greater than 500 feet above ground level.
Panelist will discuss their vision for future commercial Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operations and plans for flight demonstrations in the National Airspace System during the summer of 2020, which will highlight commercial UAS missions that have the potential to provide economic and public benefit. The flight demonstrations are expected to include UAS with integrated Detect and Avoid and Command and Control systems.
The panel will feature Jonathan Neptune, GA-ASI Project Engineer, Richard Brasel, PAE ISR Business Development Executive, Jennifer Andrews, Bell Project Engineer and as moderator Kurt Swieringa, SIO Technical Manager.
