NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland will host 85 local high school students for a Manufacturing Day event on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Media are invited to attend.
Manufacturing Day is part of a national effort to introduce young people to the thriving manufacturing industry.
Students will see how teams work together to design and prototype aeronautics and space hardware. They also will tour world-class facilities and participate in a career discussion and hands-on activities, including virtual and augmented reality and robotics.
Schools scheduled to participate are Davis Aerospace & Maritime High School, East Tech High School, Ginn Academy, John Marshall School of Engineering, MC2STEM, New Tech Collinwood, Cleveland; Euclid High School, Euclid; Lorain High School, Lorain; Parma Senior High School, Parma; and Wickliffe High School, Wickliffe.
The Manufacturing Day event is a collaborative effort between Glenn’s Office of Education, local educational institutions, and MAGNET (the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network).
