NASA has selected Galaxy Protection Services in Las Vegas to provide protective services for the agency’s Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) in Edwards, California.
The AFRC Protective Services (APS) hybrid, firm-fixed price, time & materials contract takes effect July 1 following a month-long phase-in. It covers a base period for ending June 30, 2019 with four one-year options that if exercised, the total value will be about $18.8 million over the five-year period of performance, which would extend to June 30, 2023.
The APS contract encompasses protective services operations and services at Armstrong on Edwards Air Force Base and its Building 703 located in Palmdale in California. The contract also includes the agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) NASA Management Office in Pasadena, California, and other locations designated by the government.
