The NASA Visitor Center will offer a program on the engineering design process as part of its Homeschool STEM Series for students from 10 a.m. – noon, Feb. 7.
Students ages 5-15 are invited to explore the world of STEM through interactive, NASA supported lessons. During the engineer-themed program, students will be introduced to the engineering design process through hands-on, team challenges.
Kim Check, NASA Visitor Center manager, said, “The Homeschool STEM Series events are extremely popular. This engineering program was presented in September 2017. However, because of the huge interest, not everyone was able to be accommodated. We are looking forward to offering this program to those who were not able to attend the September program.”
Registration for the event is required and opens at noon, Wednesday, Jan.10. Participants can register at www.nasawallopsvc.eventbrite.com. This program is free.
The NASA Visitor Center, located on Va. Rt. 175 about six miles from U. S. Route 13 and five miles from Chincoteague, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
