Remembering Columbia’s STS-107 Astronauts
The STS-107 crew heads for the Astrovan and a ride to Launch Pad 39A for liftoff. A landing at Kennedy was planned for Feb. 1, but Columbia and its crew were lost during reentry over eastern Texas at about 9 a.m. EST, just 16 minutes prior to the scheduled touchdown at the Space Shuttle Landing Facility runway.
