Former NASA astronaut and pilot Fred Haise gave a presentation about his lifelong career in space and aeronautics at Edwards Air Force Base, in California for an Apollo to Artemis event. Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) hosted the event for the U.S. Air Force and NASA employees to hear about Haise’s work during the Apollo program. The center’s Deputy Director Patrick Stoliker talked about NASA’s plans to return to the Moon by 2024 for the Artemis mission that will include the first woman to set foot on the Moon. Haise stands on stage with a photo of former astronauts Jim Lovell and Jack Swigert who accompanied him on the Apollo 13 lunar mission in the background with a model of the Saturn V rocket.
