Solar Eclipse Observing on the Field

April 8, 2024 | 12 p.m.

The Jon Wood Astronomy Field will be available for the public to observe the solar eclipse today. The eclipse will be a partial one at our location, with 83% of the solar disk obscured. Bring your solar glasses, pinhole viewers, properly shielded telescopes or cameras. Do not look at the sun without safety-rated eclipse glasses for your eyes or solar filters for your telescopes or cameras! Even a partially-eclipsed sun can cause serious eye and equipment damage.
