"It’s almost as if I’m a musician and the fader is my instrument — and I’m playing the astronaut’s voices for NASA TV.” — Alexandria Perryman, Audio Engineer, Johnson Space Center

“Coming from a creative background, I’ve always said that science is a form of art. Just the way you have to go in and investigate things and think outside the box in order to get the information that you want. And that’s how art is. When I’m mixing a live broadcast on NASA TV, I’m coming from that creative standpoint as an audio engineer and I’m incorporating that into getting the scientific message out to the public. And it’s this beautiful blend. It’s almost as if I’m a musician and the fader is my instrument — and I’m playing the astronaut’s voices for NASA TV.”
