EO 12114 Consideration: UNESCO World Heritage

UNESCO World Heritage sites are a series of locations of culture, natural, and historic significance that are protected by the 1972 World Heritage Convention. It is important to note that World Heritage sites protect certain natural resources. When completing the EO 12114 checklist, it is important to determine if any actions performed would impact protected sites or resources. To search for World Heritage sites:

1. Scroll down the list to find the country or countries that the mission will affect.
2. Once at the country, there will be a list of World Heritage sites.
3. Clicking on the site will take you to a page explaining the site and showing its geographical location.
4. Additionally, the top of the list has a world map with every site listed. By zooming in on the specific region, you can find any sites relevant to the EO 12114.
